So i just found out that my friend Julia has had her artwork literally ripped right off the web, and sold as "original" artwork on Etsy under the shop name "Vintage Childhood". We all know people lift images off the internet, but it's another thing to see it happening right in front of you. It's so aggravating that someone had the guts to steal low res 72 dpi images, and sell them as originals, claiming that he/she has used only the "best paints" to create it.
So in the end, not only does the ACTUAL artist get ripped off, but the buyer gets a shitty pixelated piece of artwork, no refund, out of luck. Not to mention that you really can't do anything about it, unless you wanna shell out thousands of dollars on legal fees.
ya. awesome.

-I would post the link to the vintage childhood shop, but Etsy has since removed the site.

Thanks for posting this, I think it's important that we all keep our eyes peeled, keep up the awareness about image piracy out there.
And hopefully that mess with poor Mr. Simont and Emily the Strange will work out!
