So besides keeping busy with a bunch of gallery shows coming up, half the reason this blog has been slipping is because my attention has been turned to *gasp* TUMBLR. My art buds and I have been posting all sorts of fan art goodies. The topic changes every two weeks, so it's a good refresh if I can think of something to draw.

The word apparently means "praise". This was what the random word generator picked for us this time on Creative Juices. Kinda random.. but it made for a fun scene! I really wanted to put a lot of emotion into that little guy, he's really proud of himself for freeing that tiny weirdo fly. haha

Expecto Patronum

I decided to take a break from Lord of the Rings and take a bit of inspiration from Gallery Nucleus to conjure up my latest piece. Nothing like a Dementor's kiss to get your gears revved up at night. hahah

I always loved how creepy these guys were in both, the movie & book, so it was super fun to make them in my own illustration. I was going to show Sirius Black as well, but it definitely took away from the connection between Harry and the Dementor.

The making of a Hobbit

Since I don't post many sketches, I figured I'd show you all some process video. This is about 26 minutes shrunk down to 4. You may notice that this particular Hobbit is next to Frodo... so one can only assume who he is. hehe

I've been told by many people, that these little guys are their favorite Lord of the Rings characters. Hopefully I do them justice. :D

True fact: Hobbit feet are probably the most fun thing you can draw. Try it.

The word for this week was "handrail"?? Kind of a weird word to use, but hey, whatever. It did noodle my brain to think of something, another good creative exercise.
